Soccer

K5's soccer curriculum is written by Nelson Akwari. Each session focuses on a specific skill; dribbling, passing, shooting, heading, etc. Fun games are played to re-enforce the newly learned skill. Sessions end with a scrimmage. We teach character and self-confidence through weekly character lessons (honesty, teamwork, encouragement). Each player receives a FREE T-shirt, FREE Group Photo, and a chance to win prizes at our closing ceremony!

Nelson Akwari currently plays professional soccer for the Charlotte Eagles, but has spent the last 5 seasons as a defender in the MLS with the NY/NJ Metro Stars, Columbus Crew, and Real Salt Lake. Akwari attended UCLA, and has played with the U-17, U-20, and U-23 U.S. National Teams where he has made over 30 international appearances. Originally from Houston, TX but now resides in Charlotte with his wife Amanda. Akwari seeks to impact the world and glorify God with the talent he has been given.
